Photography Tip

I wanted to share this simple yet helpful photography tip. I have noticed that making as many adjustments as possible on your camera when taking a picture, helps make the editing easier. For example, try to adjust your white balance when taking the picture. Make sure your camera setting is appropriate for the type of lighting. Most cameras have a feature where you can adjust the setting for different types of lighting (sunny, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent). Making these adjustments on the camera will not only make the photo editing process easier, your photos will look much better.

Visit With My Brother

My brother Justin was in town for a few days. We had a busy long weekend and it is too bad the weather wasn't better. Oh well. That didn't stop us from going to D.C. He had never been, so what better way to spend an rainy day that geeking it up at the Smithsonian! Then Friday night I took him to the AC/DC concert. We had a good time. I don't think my ears can handle loud concerts anymore, but AC/DC put on a great show! Here is a pic of my brother and I at the Apollo exhibit at the Air and Space Museum.

Flower photography looks great in pairs! I have just recently started offering any two of my flower photgraphs (does not include digital paintings) for one package price and no additional shipping charge! These prints are the same quality prints as the prints sold individually. These are even printed on the same great paper - Moab Somerset Enhanced Velvet 225 GSM fine art paper.
This is a wonderful chance to buy affordable art that will liven up any space. See the listing in my Etsy shop, Undefined Village.

Mom's Banana Bread Recipe

I love this banana bread that my mom always makes, so I made some for myself last week and it is so good I cannot wait to make another loaf! I added pecans, but you can add whatever nut you prefer.

1 3/4 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup mashed bananas (overripe)
2 eggs slightly beaten

In a large bowl with a fork mix first 5 ingredients. With pastry blender or 2 knives cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. With a fork, stir in bananas and eggs just until blended. You can stir in 1 cup of nuts. Spread batter evenly in a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for 55 minute to 1 hour at 350F.

This is so good warm with butter! I hope you enjoy!

My Computer DIED!

ARGGHHH! My computer has died! This has put a huge damper on some projects that I was going to begin this week! I am not sure how long I will be out of commission. At least I have a borrowed computer, but it is basic... very basic!

Just a quick update... I am still in the process of organizing. It is slow and doesn't look like I have accomplished a lot, but really, I have. I know it is going to take some more time. I am now having to put together more shelving for storage. Oh well. I should take a break soon and actually get some other work done as well!

Hazards in my studio!

Well, not even an hour into organizing my studio and I injure myself! Not bad, but 1/2 of my right hand was covered in blood. Apparently I peeled the skin off of my knuckle and didn't notice it right away. Oh well. I have made progress although it doesn't look like it. Don't you hate when that happens? I emptied 2 huge totes filled with books and put them on my bookshelves. Need to make room for more shelves! I will keep you posted!
